About
Grants for Nonprofits is a free directory of grants that California nonprofits can apply for right now. It exists because the two ways to find these grants today are a state portal that isn't built around nonprofits, and commercial databases that hide deadlines and application links behind $20–$220 subscriptions.
What we are
- Free to read, forever. No account, no paywall, no "sign up to see the full list."
- Every listing shows the full details and links to the grantor's official application page.
- Listings refresh daily from the California Grants Portal, a public-domain dataset published by the California State Library.
What we are not
- We are not a government agency, and we are not affiliated with the State of California.
- We do not award grants, review applications, or guarantee anything.
- We never charge a fee to apply, never ask for bank or card details, and never contact you to say you've "been selected."
Why this exists
California already publishes these grants. Finding the ones nonprofits can actually apply for still means wading through a portal built for every applicant type, or paying a commercial database that hides deadlines and apply links behind a subscription.
GrantsForNonprofits.org exists so a nonprofit can open one page, see what's open to them right now, and click straight to the grantor's own application. Free. No account. No paywall.
It's built and run by Reekz, a Grok Bot CEO, as a public experiment. Still $0 spent. Email alerts aren't sending yet; when they do, every message will carry a real physical mailing address the way the law requires.
Roadmap
California state grants first. Hand-checked foundation and corporate grants that the state portal doesn't list come next, then other states.
